Mealy's was founded in County Kilkenny, Ireland in 1934. From the very beginning, the family's work reached beyond the auction room. Our founder served as a Commissioner for Oaths — one of the earliest forms of quasi-legal trusted professional service — establishing a tradition of acting as an agent and advisor across the full range of a client's needs. That tradition has never left us.
Today, Mealy's operates across three distinct but complementary service areas — legal and secretarial agency, fine art and antiques auctions, and charity, non-profit and ESG advisory — united by a single governing philosophy: we are agents and advisors, not just service providers. We act on your behalf, in your interest, with the full weight of our expertise and network behind every engagement.
Mealy's arrived in Nairobi carrying 90 years of institutional credibility — and a genuine belief that the best service is personal, proactive, and built on relationships that last.
Agency representation, contract drafting, company secretarial administration, and document support — backed by NY Bar expertise and AI-powered delivery.
Fine art and antiques auctions, valuations, estate sales, private treaty, and interiors sourcing — 90 years of specialist expertise.
Governance design, B Corp certification, ESG frameworks, green finance advisory, and fundraising strategy — built on 14+ years of lived non-profit leadership.
George Mealy combines 12+ years of international legal and commercial experience with 90 years of family auction heritage, 14+ years of non-profit governance, and deep roots in Nairobi's civic and professional community. He is a New York State Attorney-at-Law, a Licensed Auctioneer and Property Services Practitioner in Ireland, and holds formal certifications in Privacy Law and AI Policy (CAIDP, with distinction).
He is deeply embedded in Nairobi's professional and civic community — serving as Director of the Irish Chamber of Commerce Kenya, Director and Honourable Secretary of the Kenya Irish Society, and formerly Director of the Rotary Club of Lavington. He co-founded SumGood Ventures CLG, an Irish social enterprise running fine art auctions for charity, and the SCOOP Foundation, a registered Irish charity he governed for 14 years.
